We know....We get it....its been a long time since you have seen a dentist. Now you are worried, anxious and embarrassed; don't be. We know that life gets in the way....kids, work, family and finances. The important thing is to take that first step. We aren't here to judge, actually it's the opposite, we are really happy to see someone we haven't seen in a long time and get you healthy and back on track.
There are so many reasons to make an appointment especially if its been a while. Obviously, we care about you teeth and tissue in your mouth. We want to make sure you don't have any cavities, broken teeth, infections, or any lesions that are concerning. Another reason it's so important to come in is because what goes on in your mouth directly effects your overall health. I know we have all heard the studies about how your dental health can effect so many things about your body. The way the bacteria in your mouth can contribute to other systemic issues both chronic and acute. Most people don't realize that periodontal bacteria is linked to Alzheimer's Disease, heart attacks and strokes, autoimmune diseases such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, and this bacteria makes it harder to control diabetes and can contribute to head and neck cancers.
Let's be honest...how much fun would life be if we all did everything perfectly all the time?!
